The Taurasi, often referred to as the Barolo of the south for its structure and complexity, is a red wine made with Aglianico grapes grown in the DOCG area surrounding the village of Taurasi, from which it takes its name, in the province of Avellino, Campania. The Taurasi, is another little known red wine even for Italians due to its limited production.
The Taurasi, made only with Aglianico grapes, is aged for a minimum of 3 years, of a least one in wood.
This Taurasi has an impressive and complex nose with plenty of spices and fruit. On the palate is elegant, with soft tannings, lively, to be enjoyed dishes such as game, truffles and very mature cheeses.

The La Molara winery was founded at the beginning of the century by a group of four friends who are very passionate about wine. Led by Riccardo Morelli, they initially bought only a few hectares of vineyards and decided to buy in the heart of the DOCG area Taurasi, in Campania, where they produce the typical Campania wines, from Aglianico to Taurasi and from Greco di Tufo to Fiano di Avellino.
