This raw organic Eucalyptus honey harvested in Campania has a light amber colour with a smell of of dried figs, licorice, smoked, balanced between sweet and salty, sometimes slightly spicy, persistent, with an aroma that recalls the licorice toffee. The Eucalyptus honey is very rich in pollen, we can find up to one million pollen grains per 10 grams of honey.
Eucalyptus honey pairs cheeses, its intense balsamic smell makes it suitable for medium-aged cheeses (minimum four months) and cheese with a spicy taste or can be used in infusions and herbal teas.
Please note that raw Eucalyptus honey crystalize due to a natural process. Our honey is 100% Italian.
Not all honey is created equal, sometime not all “honey” is even real honey, a number of ingredients are often added to what we buy as “honey”. Raw honey, on the other side, comes straight from the honeycomb, and is honey in its purest form. It is unfiltered, unheated and unpasteurized, processes that can destroy the natural vitamins (high in vitamin C and B vitamins), minerals and enzymes found in honey and to get the maximum benefits from honey, it's important to purchase raw organic honey, because regular honey has been filtered and processed, losing some of its nutritional properties along the way.
The health benefits of raw honey are endless, check our honey guide
to learn about them.
Bottega delle Api is love for nature, passion for honey and bee care.
In 1994 Francesco and Giovanni started breeding bees, moved only by their passion and without any knowledge. They started with four hives, 30 years and thousands bee stings later, they now have more than six hundred.
They consider the bees members of their family, they are looked after using only natural products and are let to enjoy and produce honey in the most uncontaminated areas of our territory. Our Mediterranean maquis is so rich in perfumes and plant essences that their honey is naturally excellent.
Bottega delle Api is in Cava de' Tirreni, a few steps from Salerno, at the gates of the Amalfi Coast. In a splendid valley between the Lattari Mountains and the Cilento Coast, an ideal place for bees to thrive and produce an outstanding honey
