Why we love it
Montefalco Rosso is the little brother of the Sagrantino di Montefalco, little know outside the Umbria region. Montefalco Rosso is a younger, more approachable and versatile red wine, but still complex due to the wood ageing.
This Montefalco Rosso, made with organically grown grapes has a complex nose with fruit and spices and a full palate, with soft tanning and a long finish, and it is a fantastic alternative for lovers of red wines with depth.
The artisan who made it
Roccafiore is passion and respect for the land, is organic farming. Roccafiore is a family, is Sagrantino di Montefalco and Grechetto, is Umbria's best wines
Passion is sustainable farming, respect for the environment and native grapes supported by a modern winery. Roccafiore is a family, not only father and son that own the winery, but also the people working there, an enlarged family working toward the same goal, producing outstanding wines made with native Umbria grapes.
Great wines start in the vineyards and not only Roccafiore follows the organic philosophy, with all interventions in the vineyards including the harvesting done manually, but they have obtained the green mark for their sustainability and Roccafiore is Umbria wines at their best, from Montefalco to Grechetto to Sangiovese, only native grapes end in their wines.
