Why we love it
A delicious extra virgin olive oil obtained from 4 different cultivars grown in the Saracena area in Calabria, Coratina, Nocellara, Carolea and Verace with a golden-green colour, clear and nicely textured. On the nose, it opens with delicate wildflowers like daisy and hawthorn, followed by fresh notes of green apple, plantain, and slightly underripe pineapple. Herbal hints of sage, rosemary, and tomato leaf add depth.
On the palate, it’s well-balanced, with a gentle bitterness and a lively peppery finish. Flavours of aubergine, chicory, and white pepper come through, leading to a structured, persistent finish. Perfect to use on salad, vegetable and fish dishes.
The artisan who made it
Amare Terre is a family-run olive oil producer rooted in the traditions of Calabria. Their story begins with the current generation, Martina and Marco, grandfather, who planted the first olive trees and built the original olive mill, laying the foundation for generations of passion and craftsmanship.
In 2008, thei father officially established the farm, continuing a legacy built on respect for the land and sustainable agriculture. In 2021, they expanded with the acquisition of a historic 1900s farmhouse—known locally as “the Castle”—home to an ancient olive press that reflects our deep connection to olive oil heritage.
Today, Marco and Martina carry the vision forward, producing and bottling premium extra virgin olive oil that captures the authentic flavours of Calabria. Amare Terre represents more than just olive oil—it’s a commitment to quality, tradition, and a new generation of Italian olive growers.
Amare Terre reflects a deep passion for sustainable agriculture, rooted in dedication, respect, and a strong connection to the land. “Amare” expresses both love and action, while “Terre” represents origin, home, and future—together meaning “hands that cultivate, stories that grow.”
Based in Saracena, Calabria, the farm celebrates a rich agricultural heritage. Their olive groves feature centuries-old trees of the native Verace variety, recognised as a Slow Food Presidium, producing authentic extra virgin olive oil that truly expresses the character of the region.
