Why we love it
This is a different, unique Trebbiano d'Abruzzo made with grapes from a 50 year old vineyard vinified in cocciopesto.
Cocciopesto is a a project started with the 2017 vintage and it is a material used since Roman times, different from Terracotta, made of bricks, stone fragments and sand.
The Trebbiano grapes, not pressed, are fermented in the cocciopesto amphora with indigenous yeasts. Following the maceration that lasts for about 10 days, the skins and stalks are removed and the wine put back in the cocciopesto to finish the fermentation producing an elegant and delicate, floral Trebbiano d'Abruzzo with an elegant nose, with tropical fruit on the palate and a marked mineral character. A great Trebbiano d’Abruzzo for fish courses and risotto but it pair perfectly fresh and medium aged cheeses.
