Trebbiano D'Abruzzo Cocciopesto, Nicodemi (75cl)

This is a different, unique Trebbiano d'Abruzzo made with grapes from a 50 year old vineyard vinified in cocciopesto.

Cocciopesto is a material used since Roman times, different from Terracotta, made of bricks, stone fragments and sand all pasted together.

The Trebbiano grapes, not pressed, are fermented in the cocciopesto amphora with indigenous yeasts. Following the maceration that lasts about 10 days, the skins and stalks are removed and the wine put back in the cocciopesto to finish the fermentation producing an elegant and delicate, floral Trebbiano d'Abruzzo with an elegant nose, with tropical fruit on the palate and a marked mineral character.

A great Trebbiano d’Abruzzo for fish courses and risotto but it pair perfectly fresh and medium aged cheeses.

Fattoria Nicodemi is located in Notaresco, in the heart of the Colline Teramane DOCG zone. The vineyards, at about 300 metres in altitude, protected by the Gran Sasso mountain and only 10 kilometres from the sea, enjoy an exceptional microclimate. The winery follows organic practices, without chemical herbicides, pesticides or fertilizers. Nicodemi is also the story of Alessandro and Elena, brother and sister, that took over in 2000 from their dad who followed the steps of their granddad. Nicodemi is the story of their family.
