Why we love it
This is an amazing organic Sangiovese wine made with grapes grown in Umbria showing what Sangiovese can produce, even outside Tuscany.
Sangiovese is always associated with Tuscany and too often with cheap Chianti wines, however, not only Sangiovese is used in plenty of great Tuscan wines, but even outside Tuscany can produce great wines.
This wine is made using handpicked organic grapes aged in large oak barrels for two years resulting in a red wine with a very complex nose where spices and dark fruit alternates. For all Chianti Classico lovers, this wine is a fantastic alternative to a great riserva, the wine has such an elegance, in the nose as well as on the palate.
On the palate the Sangiovese is silky, smooth, great structure and a long finish.
This is a wine to drink now or to keep in the cellar and drink in a few years, this is a red wine offering outstanding value for money and perfectly pairs important dishes and mature cheeses or can be sipped on its own.
