Why we love it
Verdicchio is another very famous Italian wine and one of the first to be seen outside Italy, unfortunately due to producers more interested in quantity than quality, the reputation of the verdicchio started to fade.
In the last few years, thanks to a new generation of producers, the verdicchio wine and grape is coming back into fashion and some great wine has started to appear, including aged Verdicchio.
Luciano Landi is one of them, and his verdicchio is, certainly according to us, one of the best we have tasted within its category.
This verdicchio a beautiful fruity nose, reminding of Golden apples, in the palate is fresh, refreshing, harmonious and persistent, dry.
The artisan who made it
The Marche is a region where growing grapes is relatively simple due to the perfect climate, with scenic mountains and a calming sea to protect the vines. Regardless of these ideal surroundings, Luciano Landi and his sons, as well as his father before him, decided they wanted to aim for quality rather than quantity and decided to concentrate their efforts in only a few hectares of vineyards from which they grow native grapes such as the Verdicchio and Lacrima di Morro d’Alba but also Syrah and Montepulciano for their top wines.
