Why we love it

Say orecchiette pasta in Italy and don't matter where you are, everyone will immediately think of "orecchiette alle cime di rapa", the traditional Apulian dish made with orecchiette, cime di rapa (broccoli rabe in English) and sausages. For the recipe, click here.

Our artisan orecchiette, they take their name from their shape Italian for ‘little ears’, due to the round, ear shape are made only with high quality Apulian flour and water and it is suitable for vegan and vegetarian diets.

If you find difficult to get broccoli rabe, you can substitute it with our pesto cime di rapa

The artisan who made it

Palo del Colle is a town in the province of Bari but is mainly known for being the birthplace of the now, worldwide famous, Tarallo. And in Palo del Colle is where the Antichi Sapori bakery is located.

Antichi Sapori is a small, family bakery that was founded in 1993, when they decided to produce the best tarallo. Since then , they added several other products to their range expanding their bakery, initially all typical Apulia snacks and then moved into producing pasta using the local flour, but remaining faithful to their philosophy of only using the best available ingredients.

Always on the look out for unusual ingredients I wanted to follow the suggested recipe of Pesto Cime Di Rapa. This pasta is perfect for that with it's unusual shape (like little ears) that allows the sauce to cling to it and a nice al dente bite when cooked.
