Why we love it
Italians love cheese and charcuterie or "affettati" as we called them. Italians grow up eating them, when children in a sandwich, when adult together with a good glass of wine. Cheeses and charcuterie are produced all over Italy, it is part of the country DNA and traditions, and each region, even village, uses a slightly different recipe, recipe that has been passed down generation after generation.
It would have been impossible to create a map that showcases all cheeses and charcuterie produced in Italy, so we opted for one that features what we think are the most important ones. The map is available as a PDF or a poster measuring 61x91cm. If ordering the PDF version, the file has a high resolution and can be printed in any size.
The artisan who made it
Founded in 2003 by Andrea D’Ercole, Italyabroad.com was created from a lifelong passion for authentic Italian food and wine, and the desire to share Italy’s true culinary heritage with the UK and beyond.
At Italyabroad.com, quality, integrity, and tradition are at the heart of everything we do. We work directly with small, family-run wineries and artisan food producers across Italy - people who value craftsmanship over mass production, and who use only the finest natural ingredients. That means no palm oil, no preservatives, and no artificial additives - just genuine flavours made with care.
We proudly stand against industrially produced goods and misleading “Italian-sounding” imitations. Every bottle of wine and every product we import reflects the diversity of Italy’s regions and the dedication of the families who create them. Over the years, Italyabroad.com has been recognised with multiple awards for the outstanding quality of our wines and foods. But more than accolades, our journey is driven by passion, purpose, and a simple belief: no compromise, only the best and most authentic Italian wine and food.
