Why we love it

Tuscany is mainly known for red wines, however, it can produce outstanding white wines, there are several white grapes that found in Tuscany the ideal soil and Vermentino is one of them.

Vermentino wines can be refreshing, easy to drink, or complex and this wine belongs to the second group. Made with the best Vermentino grapes, thanks to a light maceration on the skins, has a complex and elegant nose producing a succession of scents, with yellow fruit notes above all. In the palate the wine is full, smooth, rich with mineral notes and a long finish.

A very versatile white wine, ideal with aperitifs, appetizers, pasta, fish dishes and seafood.

The artisan who made it

The generations of winemakers of the Ziantoni family are lost in time. San Luciano comes from the flourishing Roman hills of Marino where they have always made wine, white wine. In 1972, due to the urban expansion towards the countryside Ovidio Ziantoni moved from Lazio to Tuscany, purchasing the property of San Luciano, in the territory of Monte San Savino (Ar), upper Val di Chiana, a property with a small church dedicated to San Luciano from which the winery take its name.

Coming from a land with a white wine tradition to a land famous for its red wines, Ovidio decides to plant the grapes he is familiar with, the grapes he has grown with, Trebbiano, Malvasia, Grechetto e Vermentino together with the traditional Tuscan grapes, Sangiovese and Ciliegiolo, and some Montepulciano. With the new generation, with Stefano and Marco, the winery grows with the addition of more vineyards and grapes, the international Chardonnay, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.
