Why we love it
This vibrant Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo DOC is obtained from Montepulciano grapes cultivated along the stunning Adriatic coast of Abruzzo, where the maritime climate and constant sea breeze enhance the wine's freshness and aromatic profile. Unlike many rosés, Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo is known for its deeper colour, fuller body, and distinctive character.
In the glass, it reveals a lively cherry-red hue and a bold, fruit-forward bouquet, bursting with aromas of red cherries, strawberries, and hints of wild herbs. On the palate, it is elegant and structured, with a rounded, full-bodied texture, vibrant acidity, and a pleasantly long finish. This rosé is uniquely versatile.
Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo is a food-friendly rosé that pairs beautifully with a wide range of dishes, from classic Italian pizzas and tomato-based pastas to grilled vegetables, white meats, and even spicy cuisine. For best results, serve it slightly warmer than a typical white or rosé, around 12–14°C, to fully appreciate its structure and depth.
Whether enjoyed on a sunny afternoon or paired with a flavourful dinner, Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo is a truly distinctive and fantastico rosé that showcases the best of Abruzzo’s winemaking tradition.
The artisan who made it
Donvitantonio vini is a family winery form Abruzzo, a territory with a long winemaking and culture history. After gaining wine making experience abroad and in Italy, working in some of the best wineries, both Donvitantonio’s grandsons, Antonio and Simone decided to go back home, to their roots, and take over Nonno Donvitantonio vineyards and start bottling their own grapes, until them, the grapes were sold to the local cooperatives. Antonio and Simone are the 3rd generation and their mission is to value and promote indigenous grapes.
