Verdeca is a white grape, thought to have its origins in Apulia in southern Italy. The grapes are largely cultivated in Colli Piacentini in Emilia-Romagna, Central Italy as well as Apulia and it is often used in blends, when vinified on its own, it can produce minerally wines. The grape ripens very late and even in warm regions tend to high acidity and green notes
