Aged for at least 10 months, Grana Padano is a hard, flaky, aged cheese produced in the Po river Valley similar to Parmigiano Reggiano made with unpasteurized cows' milk that is semi-skimmed through a natural creaming process. The name Grana Padano comes from the Italian word "grana", a reference to the characteristically grainy texture, and padano, indicating its origin "from Val Padana" (the Padana valley).

The artisan who made it
Fattorie Cremona was founded in 1933 in the heart of the Po Valley by 19 farmers that decided to come together to better respond to the individual challenges. Since then, the groups has grown and Fattorie Cremona has become a cooperative focused on the production of milk and cheeses.
Fattorie Cremona is located in a perfect, ideal location, in the middle of both, the Parmigiano Reggiano and Grana Padano PDO areas, thus producing two of the most famous Italian cheeses together with the Provolone, another little know but very famous nationally, cheese.
