A blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon aged in small oak barrels. The Rosso Scuro, the name means dark red, is a red wine with an intense ruby colour and a nose that shows aromas of red fruits and spices with underlying hints of vanilla. Full bodied, in the mouth is structured, well balanced, velvety and persistent. This wine is another masterpiece of Roberto Scubla. This wine has von several international and Italian awards, including the 3 glasses from the Gambero Rosso
About the producer
Roberto Scubla is according to many, one of the best Italian wine makers. His wines are in the all wine bibles and he keeps receiving plenty of awards, national and international, from the 3 glasses from the Gambero Rosso to Decanter and International wine challenge medals. He is also on of the founder members of the “super whites”, group of producers of white wines from Friuli that is recognized to produce some of the best white wines made. Roberto Scubla vineyards are located in the Colli Orientali area of Friuli, north east of Italy, near the border with Slovenia where he grows native grapes like the Tocai and Verduzzo but also grapes that have found in Friuli an ideal environment such as the Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. All its wines have plenty of character and elegance.
