Addio 2023 and benvenuto 2024

December 30, 2023 Tags: 0 comments
2023 has been a significant year for us, first and foremost because we celebrated our 20th birthday. I still can’t believe, 20 years have flown by, and what a rollercoaster has been, plenty of ups, with very highs, and downs, including very lows. We sailed through the 2008 financial crisis, then Brexit came along followed by Covid: it has not been easy but every time we came out, I would say, stronger. During the past year we added plenty of new products and producers, from wine to chocolate, from tomatoes tins to cheeses and will continue to add plenty more in 2024, we want to become your one shop for authentic and high quality Italian products.

2023 has not just been about our 20th birthday. 2023 has also been a very challenging year for all our suppliers, all our small producers. Climate change has affected, possibly for the first time and in equal measure, the whole of Italy, from north to south, from Pantelleria all the way up to the Aosta Valley. From one of the wettest springs to one of the hottest and longest summers, everyone has seen first hand the effect of climate change, it has been a very challenging year for all farmers and unfortunately, unless we seriously start doing something about it, it is just the beginning. At Italyabroad.com we are looking at ways to reduce our environmental footprint even more.

But 2023 has also been one of our busiest year ever thanks to all of you who trusted us for their “Italian” shopping, and on that positive note, I want to bid farewell to 2023 and welcome the 2024, hoping that it will bring all of us joy and health and success, whatever it means.

Buon anno a tutti and to the next 20 years.

Andrea and the team
