A great, classic Amarone della Valpolicella wine, a rich, big and bold Amarone.
Made from grapes grown in the heart of the Valpolicella area, the "classico" area, from a single vineyard, “le Quare”, at about 400m above sea level, this Amarone della Valpolicella wine does not have the same elegance than its brother, the Amarone Campedel, however, is bigger, fruiter, bolder, smooth, to be drunk now or to keep in the cellar for a few more years.
The Amarone della Valpolicella is a great red wine with depth and structure, a wine that pairs beautifully game, braised meat, and aged cheeses, as well as being a meditation wine, a wine to be enjoyed on its own. The Amarone della Valpolicella wine making process included drying the grapes to reduce the water content but for more information on the wine and how it is made click here
Over the generations, the Gamba winery has been passed down from father to son and it is now run by the three brothers Giovanni, Giuseppe and Martino helped by their own sons and daughters. Located right in the heart of the Valpolicella Classico area and spanning six acres, they grow the classic Valpolicella grapes, from Corvina to Rondinella with which then they make the classic Valpolicella wines, from valpolicella to amarone, from valpolicella ripasso to a recioto della valpolicella.
