This is an example of a well made cabernet franc from vineyards located in Friuli. Cabernet Franc is often used in blends but rarely on its own. This wine, that can be drunk young, with its bursting herby aromas, or laid in the cellar, for a more mature and complex wine, in the mouth is smooth, with soft tannins and the caractheristic herby flavours and the bittery aftertaste.
About the producer
The family run winery Coceani started in Friuli, in the Collio area, in the 1800 with Alfonso when he bought his first vineyard. The winery has then been passed down and added new vineyards and it now has vineyards in the Collio and Colli Orientali del Friuli areas and from the late 80’, Renzo has decided to follow the organic philosophy and started growing their grapes organically. Now, helped by his family, is starting to make wines with no sulphites. Their philosophy is to produce exceptional wines with character and enhancing the characteristics of the soil. The grapes grown are the typical of the area, from the famous Pinot Grigio to the less knows Ribolla Gialla, all organically certified.
