Why we love it
This orange wine, made with Fiano grapes from the DOCG appellation area, is made with manually harvested organic fiano grapes from the DOCG appellation area fermented for 45 days on their skins and unfiltered.
With a very limited production, circa 2000 bottles per vintage and only when the vintage allows, this orange wine has a bright color with coppery reflections and a nose with notes of chamomile and hints of peaches. On the palate the wine is fresh, fruity, with a lovely acidicity, perfect with raw fish or sushi and lightly smoked food.
Pre order your case now and save £34.90, the wine will be shipped when bottled at the beginning of September
The artisan who made it
Case d’Alto farm takes its name from the over one hundred year old vineyards planted in the mid-1800s, in the area called Case d’Alto in Taurasi, where our great grandmother bought a small vineyard with the money from her wedding dowry, since then, our family, generation after generation, with the same passion, has continued the production of wine following organic farming processes and practicing viticulture and olive growing with low environmental impact, without the use of pesticides, harmful to humans and nature.
The area where the farm is located is called Irpinia, a territory that is hidden among the mountains of the Southern Apennines, famous for its wines, namely Aglianico, Taurasi and Fiano di Avellino, all wines produced by the farm using exclusively from our own grown grapes.
