Made from a blend of 70% Sangiovese, 15% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes grown in vineyards located around the town of Cortona in Tuscany, between Siena and Arezzo, and aged for 4 months in new and used oak barrels, this Tuscan red wine has a rich and elegant bouquet of mature fruits, with hints of prunes and cherry, and spicy notes with a touch of vanilla. Medium bodied, smooth and round in the mouth with soft tannins.
The Dal Cero winery is another family that only recently started to bottle their wines, before they were selling it to some of the best Italian wine producers. They have vineyards in Veneto in and around Soave, where they grow their white grapes, Pinot Grigio and Trebbiano and in Tuscany, on the hills surrounding Cortona between Florence and Montalcino, where they grow their red grapes, from Sangiovese to Syrah, now at the fourth generation, they are taking their family winery amongst the top producers
