Why we love it
Made with 100% Chardonnay grape, this classic method sparkling wine is fermented on its own lees for 36 months. After disgorging, using the winery own recipe’s "liquer d’expedition", the wine is aged for another 6 months. This is a "brut" classic method sparkling wine.
The name “RS” stands for “Roberto Scubla”, owner and winemaker, this sparkling wine is his creation, it is a classic sparkling wine, not only in the method. It is a sparkling wine created to celebrate, to mark, to highlight important occasions.
The nose is complex, with a fine and persistent perlage, bread crust and toasted aroma notes, very ripe fruit flavour. In the palate is a full bodied and important sparkling wine. This is a all courses sparkling wine, perfect for important aperitifs.
The artisan who made it
Roberto Scubla is an amazing person who is very passionate about his wines. He took a big risk and left a safe job in the bank for an uncertain future amongst the vines and he has truly succeeded in what he was trying to achieve. His winery and vineyards are located in the Colli Orientali area of Friuli, north east of Italy, near the Slovenian border, where he grows native grapes like the Friulano and Verduzzo but also grapes that have found an ideal environment in Friuli such as the Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon or the Sauvignon and all his wines have plenty of character and elegance.
