The Taurasi, made only with Aglianico grapes grown in the "Irpinia" region, is often called the Barolo of the South for its structure and complexity and this one is a fantastic example.
Made only with selected Aglianico grapes and only in the best vintages, aged for a least 3 years in small barrels, this red wine has a nose of violets and berries, in the mouth is full but elegant, warm, smooth, with soft tannins and black fruit jam flavors and a long and persistent aftertaste.
The artisan who made it
The La Molara winery was founded at the beginning of the century by a group of four friends who are very passionate about wine. Led by Riccardo Morelli, they initially bought only a few hectares of vineyards and decided to buy in the heart of the DOCG area Taurasi, in Campania, where they produce the typical Campania wines, from Aglianico to Taurasi and from Greco di Tufo to Fiano di Avellino.
