Why we love it
An outstanding, elegant, full bodied red wine made with Syrah grapes grown in vineyards located in the town of Cortona.
The bouquet presents initially notes of ripe fruit, plum, blackberry, blackcurrant, and blueberry...
In the mouth, you will be amazed by its balance, its great texture and length, (indication that the Clanis will develop into a great wine).
Presented in a Rhone style bottle, the wine certainly has a lot in common with the best wines of the Northern Rhone.
It is recommendeded to decant the wine before opening. Produced in very limited quantity.
The Syrah Clanis, has received a silver medal at the Syrah du Monde 2009, the biggest international competition reserved for wine made with Syrah.
The artisan who made it
The Dal Cero winery is another family that only recently started to bottle their wines, before they were selling it to some of the best Italian wine producers. They have vineyards in Veneto in and around Soave, where they grow their white grapes, Pinot Grigio and Trebbiano and in Tuscany, on the hills surrounding Cortona between Florence and Montalcino, where they grow their red grapes, from Sangiovese to Syrah, now at the fourth generation, they are taking their family winery amongst the top producers
