A fantastic and yet typical Barolo, simple but elegant, complex but approachable, a wine where the Nebbiolo shows what is capable of. Aged for 24 months in big barrels, from Nebbiolo grapes grown in La Morra area, one of the most vocated in the Barolo commune, this wine has a complex floral and spicy note, in the mouth is full, balanced, with a lively acidity and delicate tannins. To fully enjoy this wine, we suggest to decant it

The artisan who made it
Pietro Balocco decided to start bottling his own wine, the family had been growing and selling grapes for more than a century, only recently and now Federico, the young and talented son/wine maker, has decided to take the Collina San Ponzio winery where it really belongs, amongst the top Piedmont producers. Their Nebbiolo vineyards used in the production of the Barolo, are located in La Morra, one of the best areas for Barolo, but also grow other Piedmont native grapes such as Barbera, Dolcetto, Roero and Favorita that then bottle.
