Why we love it

If the Barbera d’Asti Vignali is aged in barrique, the Barbera D’Asti Titon is aged in big barrels and the different ageing produces a very different wine, with a rich and complex nose with red fruit hints, a full body, with firm tannins and a lively acidity when young, another "big" wine

The artisan who made it

The L’Armangia winery have been making wines in Canelli, Piedmont, from 1850, and today they are amongst the top wineries of the area particularly with regard to growing and producing Barbera d’Asti and Moscato D’Asti. Ignazio, the owner and winemaker, is not your conventional winemaker, he knows his grapes as if they are his own sons and daughters and he knows what they can produce and he firmly believes in the Barbera d’Asti grape, but also grow a variety of other grapes including Albarossa, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and a very small vineyard of Pinot Nero that makes an amazing wine.

After enjoying the Barbera d'Asti Sopra Berruti, me and my wife decided to try another barbera and we thought it best to stick with the same producer from before. We were not disappointed. This is another oustanding barbera d'asti and, again, we had it with our lunch and once again it made the meal complete.
