Why we love it
This Montepulciano D’Abruzzo DOCG is named after the ancient name of the winery’s owner town, Notaresco; the first vintage was in 2003 and the wine is a blend of selected Montepulciano grapes from three different vineyards. This Montepulciano d’Abruzzo DOCG is fermented in 500L first- and second-passage French oak barrels and then matured for 12 months in wood.
The result is a very complex Montepulciano d’Abruzzo DOCG, with a complex nose with hints of blackberry and blueberry, then cloves, lavender and rosemary. The palate is elegant, full, perfectly balanced, soft, with a long finish. This wine is the perfect accompaniment for spicy dishes and mature cheeses.
