Why we love it

A Moscato d'Asti made from grapes grown in the estate's vineyard located in Canelli, a UNESCO village and now a separate DOCG appellation due to the quality of its Moscato d'Asti, renowned for their superiority compared to the Asti appellation with a floral and fruity nose with nuances of acacia flowers, pears, golden apples, citrus, pineapple reminiscent of summer, fresh, elegant, not overly sweet, perfectly balanced on the palate.

Moscato d’Asti is a low alcohol, semi sparkling sweet wine from Moscato grapes widely known and enjoyed around the world that despite being a sweet wine, is a wine for many occasions, not just for Christmas even though it pairs perfectly with Panettone and biscuits, non-creamy pastry and fruits, but it also works unexpectedly well with cold cuts and fermented cheeses and even spicy Asian cuisine, making it a wine for everyone.

Whether you're a connoisseur or not, this Moscato d'Asti will leave a last`5

The artisan who made it

The L’Armangia winery have been making wines in Canelli, Piedmont, from 1850, and today they are amongst the top wineries of the area particularly with regard to growing and producing Barbera d’Asti and Moscato D’Asti. Ignazio, the owner and winemaker, is not your conventional winemaker, he knows his grapes as if they are his own sons and daughters and he knows what they can produce and he firmly believes in the Barbera d’Asti grape, but also grow a variety of other grapes including Albarossa, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and a very small vineyard of Pinot Nero that makes an amazing wine.

I had been thinking about trying this wine for ages and I finally decided to give it a try a few weeks ago and it is one of the best wines I have ever had the pleasure of tasting. My sisters loved it too, so I've already gone and ordered a full case ready for my oldest sister's birthday next week!
