Harvesting in Tuscany is an exclusive food and wine tour touching some of the best and most renowned Tuscan cities and villages and include a full day in vineyard harvesting .

This is an exclusive wine tour, educational, as well as fun. You will be hosted by one of our wine experts and you will be meeting and talking to vinery owners and wine makers, you will not be entertained by marketing people, you will be visiting small wineries and we will only be taking 10 people

THE PROGRAM:
First day, Thursday
Please make your own flight arrangements to Florence.
Meet with the Italyabroad.com representative and board the bus and we’re off to the land of the wines. If you are looking for a place to stay the night before let us know and we will help you.

Our accomodation
After everyone has arrived, we will drive to our base, a beautiful Tenuta, a gorgeous estate perched on a hill right in the middle of the Chianti area with stunning views over the throlling hills of Tuscany. The Tenuta is an ancient family farm that has been fully renovated. Lounge by the pool, sit on the patio, sip an espresso, or maybe a glass of rosso and enjoy your stay, this is everything you imagined Tuscany to be. Benvenuti in Toscana, Welcome to Tuscany..
Visit, tasting and dinner
In the afternoon, after having checked in, we will have a wine tasting and then a dinner in a local restaurant not before having stopped for a proper aperitivo in a nearby village.

Friday 23rd - Chianti
Espresso, breakfast, and then get dirty in the vineyards and wines harvesting grapes and having lunch all together. In the evening, if you are not too tired after the day harvesting we will drive to a nearby village for an aperitivo and Tuscan dinner.

Saturday - Maremma
9:30 am and we’re off to taste some of the best wines from Maremma. We will be heading to two wineries and will have lunch all together. Fantastico!
Maremma has proved a wonderful place for grapes such as Viognier, Petit Verdot and Vermentino and we will taste them and a few more, with an explanation of the terroir, the vinification and we’ll have a vertical tasting of several vintages too. On the way back, we will stop in Siena where you’ll have some free time for a coffee in Piazza del Campo and shopping.
We’ve been busy for a few days eating and drinking and so tonight is a free evening for you to explore the local village

Sunday – Montalcino and Chianti Classico
After breakfast, we will head to Castelnuovo Berardenga, in the heart of the Chianti Classico area, where will be visiting an estate and taste their wines with an introduction about the characteristics of the wine, terroir and ageing process from the oenologist and will have lunch there. After lunch, we will enjoy a visit to the hilltop town of Montalcino which is really something to see, for more vino rosso and Tuscan food. We have our final dinner tonight.

Monday - Off you go
We check out of the Tenuta and head off home, the tour is then finished.
We will drop people off at the train station in Florence late in the morning. We have left time here for delays, but please don’t cut it too close for flights and trains etc… The airport is about a 30 minute taxi from the city centre. You should book flights that leave after 7 pm

Price: The cost per person is £1100 based on double occupancy at the winery. This price includes all accommodation, visits and tastings at wineries, all meals except on the free night, all wines at meals, and local transport. Flights are not included.
If you are travelling by yourself there will be a single supplement of £250.
