Italian wine and grape guide : Gewürztraminer

Gewürztraminer is the official German name for the Traminer grape, one of the symbols of the Alto Adige viticulture. The Gewürztraminer is a very well known and highly distinctive grape, on the nose and palate, as all the wines made from aromatic or partially aromatic grapes that make the wine a difficult food match. Due to its structure and minerality, and the alcohol content of many interpretations of South Tyrol, make it an interesting wine to try with white meat preparations very spicy, with smoked salmon or blue cheese, exceptional as a meditation wine.
