Montepulciano d Abruzzo, Jasci & Marchesani (75cl)
|
|
Description
One of the classic Italian wines, powerful, complex, full bodied obtained from hand picked, selected, organically grown Montepulciano grapes from vineyards located in Abruzzo near the cost, with the grapes gently protected by the sea. Once the wine is made, it is aged for 6 months in oak barrels to give a subtle and well balanced richness. Bursting with aromas of black fruit, chocolate and scents of vanilla, this wine has smooth tannins and a fruity, lasting finishProducer
Jasci & Marchesani was established in 1960 and was the fruit of the labours of Jasci Sebastiano and Marchesani Lucia. The property where the vines are located is spread over around 40 hectares. The terrain is exposed to the delicate south-easterly sea breeze and uses organic procedures in the vineyards.
Jasci & Marchesani are pioneers of Italian organic wines, they have started in 1978 well before organic became trendy. The wines Jasci & Marchesani are produced with selected grapes that have found their full adaptation in areas and specific locations of the seals.
they mature and age in the darkness of the cellars where they alternate in steel barrels and barrels to reach the refinement with which you have on your table.

Oooo my first Review of a Wine.My God where do i start.
Ok at the Beginning seems the best place:-
Australia where the Ozzies tend to drink out of a cask rather than a bottle,I was living there in Sydney for nearly 10yrs sampling all the Delights of what natives out there described as "The Ozzie Reds"
Australia i here you say whilst i am on an Italian Wine Site....Bear with me!!
The Australian Community seem to bear down on the unsuspecting Brit like myself like a Ton of Bricks when it comes to Red Wine and the Comments on "Whats the Best"is usually overpowering and one is reminded repeatedly that the Ozzie Reds are the best in the world now?
I never said i Disagreed i just Drank their Wolf Blass,Hardy,s,Lindemans,Oxford Landing and Jacobs Creek Reds With a sense of Gratitude for a Good Red Wine.
Once back in the UK some years later i ventured into a North East Italian Restaurant with my Partner(Another Red Drinker) and was asked if i would like to try an Italian Red Wine with our meals?
Barolo or Maybe a Montepulciano.
Ok why not.Montepulciano was the order and out came a Red by Jasci and Marchesani for a Staggering Restaurant price of £29? which was uncorked at the table allowed to Breath and poured....."This is imported from Italy only for the Restaurant" was the Waitresses comment before we sampled this rather Expensive Red from Italy we had never tasted before.
OMG......was my Cry with my first mouthful!!! with a Huge smile on my face i swallowed and my Tastebuds were having a Party in my mouth like nothing i have ever experienced before with a Red Wine.Suffice to say this was the Evening both Myself and My Partner were Hooked and Hooked Big.We have never looked back or at another Red with an Ozzie Label again,The only Problem was Finding the Wine we had been seduced by that night. We took Pictures with our Mobile phones of the Bottle and its Label and at last here we are on this site Ordering 13 bottles of it as our first order here on Italyabroad.com.
Thank you for Taking the Time to read my Rambling if you did and thanks to Italy Abroad for Supplying the Alcohol which promted my Review.;-)
