Description

This Italyabroad.com authentic Italian restaurant is located in Cleadon Village, only few miles from Sunderland, and it was first established five years ago. This restaurant is very elegant and chic and very different from the other Italian restaurants you are used to seeing around the city. When you first enter this restaurant you are not too sure whether it is Italian or not. Then when you sit down and take a quick look at the menu and the impressive wine list, you soon realise that you are in an Italian restaurant.
This restaurant is unique, in that it uses traditional Italian ingredients and fuses them with other cuisines to create new and innovative dishes. The chefs pay great attention to detail when it comes to these masterful creations. This new age fusion restaurant promotes good contemporary Italian cuisine. They use old traditional methods and ingredients in order to excite you taste buds.

The menu includes some of the classical Italian dishes but if you really want to enjoy your visit to Romano’s bistro and taste something different then choose some of the new modern Italian fusion dishes which are a mixture of classic Italian mixed with other foreign flavours. Also, they have a daily specials menu that changes according to the availability of the freshest ingredients from the market. Romano’s bistro is not a pizzeria so don’t go there whishing to order a pizza because you will not find it.

Between Romano’s regular customers are the Sunderland football players.
The atmosphere is relaxed and laid back. The service on the other hand is a different story. Nothing is left to chance, the attention to detail is spectacular. Even the service is out of this world, the waiters make sure their customers’ every need is fulfilled.

Romano’s bistro has an incredible wine list, with wines to suit every kind of palate and every possible type of dish you could imagine. Even the dessert menu, which changes on a daily basis, comes with it own wine recommendation and in case you don’t know which one fits best your meal just ask the waiters and you will not be disappointed with their suggestions.
Romano’s Bistro has also a great selection of Grappas and typical Italian spirits such as Limoncello, Fragolino and many more and you can see them exposed in an ornate glass cabinet.
If you like Italian food and want to try something different then try this new fusion style restaurant, you will remain pleasantly surprised by the quality of food produced.
And before asking for the bill don’t forget the ice cream, made following an old Italian recipe.
