The name 40/60 indicates the percentage of grapes that makes this red wine from Latium, 40% syrah or shiraz and 60% Cesanese, a native grape that produces outstanding wines, aged for 6 months in barrels. This full bodied, rich and well rounded red wine, shows aromas of black fruits and a lick of vanilla, and on the palate is full, round and with an elegant finish. This red wine is suitable for vegan
About the producer
Olivella vineyards are located in the Frascati DOC area, surrounding the town of Frascati, and the grapes are grown organically and without the use of any meat derivate in the fining process. The Notarnicola family, under the directions of Danilo, looks after the whole process, from planting the vines to bottling and storing the wines. Together with native grapes such as Cesanese and the Malvasia and Trebbiano used in the making of the Frascati, l’Olivella also grows international grapes like the Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah which are blended with the Cesanese in the making of their red wines. L’Olivella philosophy is to emphasise the native grapes with the reduction of the international grape in their wines.
